LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. - Team Little Rock and The Landings at Little Rock AFB marked the opening of base housing's first dog park with a ceremony March 3.

The park will be dedicated and named for fallen 19th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog Uran, a veteran of five deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. His search efforts yielded four explosive finds along Baghdad roadways in spring 2003 while deployed aiding United States Army infantry units.

Uran's unique talents were also employed as part of Secret Service details including support missions for President Barack Obama, President George Bush, Vice President Joseph Biden, Vice President Dick Cheney and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. He also was requested to help local police departments cleared bomb threats in Bryant, Jacksonville, Conway and Lonoke County.
