SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - Children in Sherwood had the opportunity to get active at the Sylvan Hills Community Church on Saturday.

The church held their first annual Sherwood Kids Olympics. Volunteers put on the event in hopes of raising awareness to the issue of child obesity in Arkansas.

"Arkansas was one of the top rated in obesity in kids, and so we wanted to get the kids out and active," said Tiffany Davenport.

Children ages 4 to 12 took part in several activities that include an obstacle course, 1/2 mile race, three legged race and a sack race.
