Deputy tased during suspect arrest
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A deputy was injured during the attempted arrest of an assault suspect in Pulaski County.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Marcus Venson had repeatedly harassed someone, and then allegedly drove by the victim's home and pointed a gun at them.
Deputies found Venson in a vehicle and attempted to pull him over, but after a short pursuit, deputies managed to spike the suspect vehicle's tires and safely end the chase.
According to Lt. Carl Minden, Venson was "drive-stunned" by a deputy with a taser. Minden said in an email, "A drive stun does not involve deployment of the taser cartridge probes and is a pain compliance tactic. Neuromuscular Incapacitation (NMI) will not result from a drive stun application."
